Having worked for other people for 5 years, this is one of the first private commissions which Tom received. It was on a narrow commercial street, with a mews behind. On the Ground floor there is a shop, with access from both ends. Above are two storeys of offices.

The composition is very much of it’s time, with the hard red engineering bricks and brutal sculpting which distinguish it from its neighbours on either side while paying respect to their form and scale.
